Reasons for Revision

Net sales: Of particular note, domestic demand is expected to remain stronger than anticipated when the previous results forecast was published.

Operating income: Despite the positive impact of an improved product mix, increase in sales quantity, efforts to cut costs in the first two quarters of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2010, mainly in Japan, there is concern about the prospect of rising raw materials prices in and after the third quarter. Additionally, overseas subsidiaries have some risk to generate a loss related to restructuring measures, among others.

Owing to the impact of these and other factors, DIC has revised its consolidated operating results forecast as above.
